Samara Joy, a multi Grammy Award-winning young jazz singer from New York comes from a family of musicians. Her career took off in 2019 when she won the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, and since then she has performed with such legends as Christian McBride and Bill Charlap. The classics of jazz history greatly influenced her style, and standards play an emphatic part in her repertoire. The maturity of her timbre and delivery can be felt particularly well in these older compositions.

Samara Joy released her first solo album in 2021, for which Jazz Times named her Best New Artist of the year. Her second album, Linger Awhile was named Best Jazz Vocal Album at the 2023 Grammy Awards, where she was named Best New Artist, while her single, Tight won the Best Jazz Performance award this year. Young as she is, many believe one day she will follow in the footsteps of Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald or Billie Holiday. Her first concert in Hungary promises to be a real treat, and is not to be missed!

The world-famous Dutch harpsichordist, organist and conductor Ton Koopman, one of the most significant representatives of the international practice of the historically informed performance of early music, turns 80 this October.
