In recent decades, she has enjoyed an outstanding career of success in the world's major opera houses, including the Vienna State Opera, Metropolitan Opera in New York, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opéra Bastille in Paris and the Royal Opera House in London. She worked together with such world-class superstars as Riccardo Muti, James Levine, Plácido Domingo, and José Carreras. In addition to her career abroad, she has also continuously performed in Hungary. At the gala concert, the Kossuth Prize and Prima Primissima Award recipient singer will perform the defining opera excerpts of her career and the favourite popular hits of her youth with her excellent guest musicians.

The first movement focuses on opera. The Hungarian State Opera’s orchestra is conducted by conductor Domonkos Héja. The most popular arias and duets of the magical world of opera by Mozart, Verdi and Puccini, among others, will be performed. The evening's guest tenor will be Szabolcs Brickner, and the surprise guest will be the winner of the artist's CareerStart Masterclass, but the melodies of the world-famous Hungarian operetta composer Ferenc Lehár will also be performed.

In the second movement, as part of the “Songs from a Girl’s Bedroom” popular music compilation, Andrea Rost is joined by fellow Kossuth Prize recipient Hot Jazz Band to present influential hits of her childhood and youth from Pál Széchy and Sarolta Zalatnay, among others, but you will also hear hits by Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe and Hanna Honthy, as well as excerpts from My Fair Lady and West Side Story.

The concert is a co-production by the Hungarian State Opera and the Andrea Rost Art Foundation.
