„Chicory, chicory, our plants are blue, let us teach a song to you!” The band Katáng chose this quote from Imre Varga as its motto. And as long as we are talking of teaching music: Katáng creates magical fairy tale worlds using poems set to music. They write music for Hungarian poems, with fabulous instrumentation for heartfelt children’s songs. Their music smoothly blends the lightness of Celtic harps with the shrill sounds of accordions, the resplendent soaring of Irish flutes, the thrumming of upright basses, the resounding melodies of the Portuguese cinco, and the clanging of various percussion instruments. As an added bonuses, the band will be adding even more instruments to their music.

Our offer

Behind the ‘pop music in a time machine' concept are arrangements of familiar contemporary pop hits and golden-oldies that are swinged-, jazzed- and doo-wopped-up before being planted in Motown-sounding soul. This simple but wonderful idea is one that works perfectly.
